GreenScope is a coordination project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme. Its objective is to strengthen Europe’s green and digital transition by equipping students, educators, and institutions with the skills needed for modern environmental monitoring using Earth Observation (EO) and LiDAR technologies. By bringing together expertise from five European countries, GreenScope aims to modernise environmental education, support labour-market needs, and foster data-driven sustainability practices across Europe.
We start with a solid foundation: we will analyse current environmental monitoring practices in partner countries and identify where EO and LiDAR can bring the greatest added value. We will also explore how these technologies are used by professionals, mapping skill needs and future workforce requirements. Building on this knowledge, the consortium will co-create an interdisciplinary curriculum and a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), using interactive, accessible methods to help students and educators build practical EO/LiDAR competences.
To bring innovation into real-world settings, GreenScope will organise student innovation labs where multidisciplinary teams apply EO and LiDAR to address concrete environmental challenges in their communities. The project will also build an open-access repository of learning materials, datasets, and case studies to support long-term use beyond the project lifetime. Throughout the project, partners will engage local stakeholders through webinars, dissemination events, and a final international conference, promoting collaboration and increasing awareness of data-driven environmental monitoring.
The partners of the GreenScope consortium, listed below, process certain types of personal data for the purposes of the project. Each partner is responsible for the personal data they collect and process during activities carried out within the framework of GreenScope:
